Arc System Works won’t be keeping players in its home country waiting too long for more BlazBlue. At the Blue Fes fan event on Saturday in Tokyo, the company announced a final release date for the home console version of Continuum Shift.

Japanese players can expect the title on July 1. Both PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be priced at 7,140 yen. Arc will also be bundling in an art book and a Noel Nendroid figure for a limited edition priced at 9,660 yen.

Just announced a few weeks back, Continuum Shift is a home port of the second BlazBlue arcade title. In addition to the new characters of the arcade version, the home version makes u-12 playable and adds new stages.

Other new features mentioned by producer Toshimichi Mori at the Blue Fes event include a challenge mode with over 300 challenges, and a story mode with over 28 scenarios. The home version of the original BlazBlue was known for its story mode, which Arc System Works liked to boast had enough volume to fill a text adventure game.

Continuum Shift has been announced for release outside of Japan, but at present the game is date TBA.
