Back in 1998, before the world recognized that the Y2K bug was no reason to spoil New Year’s Eve parties, the platformer was king of the videogame world. Mario 64 brought the genre into three dimensions and Rare quickly followed suit with its own clone, Banjo-Kazooie. The game starred a lovable bear that carries around a bird in his backpack. Together, the duo saved Banjo’s sister Tootie from the evil, rhyming witch Gruntilda by collecting things. A lot of things.
It’s been 10 years and Rare is now releasing a third Banjo-Kazooie game with the subtitle Nuts
